Some time back we were
lucky to stumble upon a quote on preparedness & paranoia:
“Being
Prepared is proactive.
Being Paranoid is reactive.”
Being Paranoid is reactive.”
“Reactive” does not need much
explaining, it is a response to an action or event.
“Proactive” on the other hand
means “tending to initiate change rather
than reacting to events”
(Collins
English Dictionary – Complete and Unabridged © HarperCollins Publishers)
In other words a sensible
prepper seeks to change his current situation (for the best) under some consideration.
The paranoid prepper responds to stimuli -like fear of a possible or imaginative
event- and one can consider his actions more impulsive than considered.
