In this posting we are going to refer to the very small single AAA
battery flashlights, that are small enough to fit in a survival kit yet
powerful enough to me any need for light.
We also consider them as vital safety equipment because they will allow
you to safely walk in the night.
They provide multiple brightness levels and most also provide a strobe
option.
Using AAA batteries they are female finger sized too.
But since they are pretty powerful at about 100 lumens, they need proper feeding
with quality cells. For Every Day Carry you can opt for rechargeable AAAs, but
fo inclusion to your survival kit look no feather than the single-use lithium AAAs
from Energizer.
They offer all the lithium battery advantages like the extended runtme, but
more importantly improved low temperature performance.
So here are our suggestions:
A real budget light but rally small and tried and tested.
A potent one in 120 lumens, and comes with strobe. This is the best buy
of the genre.
The benchmark flashlight of the genre, updated with strobe also. You can also find its
siblings called Maratac & ITP A3, both being manufactured by Olight.
The budget and the spendy models from Fenix. But we are uping the
category with the LD02. We still EDC its predecessor, the L0D-CΕ, circa
2007.
The genre powerhouse. Comes with a magnetic tail.
The high-end flashlight of the kind.
And here are some independent reviews of these flashlights, coming from
the Candlepowerforums experts.
