James Burke is a science historian and creator of Connections, a TV series on technology milestones and how they affected our lives. The first episode of the series, The Trigger Effect, starts with a narrative of the 1965  New York City blackout, and comments on our dependence on technology, or better phrased, our belief it will always be there offering a savior’s hand.
